Terms & Conditions

Please take the time to read through these before continuing to use our service.

By visiting our site and/ or purchasing something from us, you engage in our Service and agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions.

On accessing the www.usedcarsexpress.co.uk on this and on each subsequent occasion you will be deemed to have accepted all of the terms and conditions that apply to its use and to the facilities and services provided by it. We reserve the right to alter these terms and conditions at any time and it is your obligation to check if changes have been made. Your use of www.usedcarsexpress.co.uk after changes are posted online shall constitute acceptance of the new terms and conditions.

7 Days to Change Your Mind

For face-to-face purchase, we give you 7 days to change your mind. If you don’t like it, simply bring it back within 7 days for a refund. It’s so easy.

It’s important to know when you’re committing to buy from us, and the fair-use restrictions for our refund policy, which are below.

  • The option to change your mind and return the car ends after 7 days.
  • The vehicle transportation is the responsibility of the Buyer.
  • We will require the vehicle to be returned to our location in the same condition as when it was purchased. If the car requires cleaning or repair, then reasonable charges will apply.
  • If you decide to return the car, your refund will be adjusted by 45 pence per mile to reflect usage.
  • All return vehicles are subject to an Additional Administration Fee of £695.
  • You can put the refund towards purchasing another from us immediately of us getting the car back.
  • You should get a refund within 14 days of us getting the car back if you decide to get money back.

Administration Fee

All vehicles are subject to an Administration Fee of £99, this is non-refundable and non-transferable. This fee is a compulsory fee and applies to all our cars. You will be able to add the Administration Fee to the price of the car. The Administration Fee covers vehicle inspection, vehicle provenance investigation certificate, DVLA registration and warranted mileage giving you real confidence in our cars.

Test Drive

For insurance purposes, to take a car for a test drive you must be at least 21 years old and have held the relevant valid full UK driving licence for at least 12 months.

Deposits

The minimum required to secure a car is a £200 deposit, this is non-refundable, non-transferable and is subject to statutory rights. A further deposit may be placed to extend the collection date, this would be a maximum of £600 which would secure the car for up to 2 weeks in total. Deposits will be forfeited if you fail to collect the car at the arranged time. The car will then be placed back for sales and prior notice will not be given.

Payment Methods

Direct Transfer, Bank Drafts and Building Society Cheques payable to Used Cars Express Ltd.

Finance – No fee, release immediately.

Cash payments – No fee, release immediately. Used Cars Express Ltd only accept up to £7,000 in cash.

Please note: unfortunately, we can not accept debit card and credit card payments made towards the purchase of your car. However, cards are accepted for deposit and additional products i.e. Warranty.

Apply for Finance

Finance is provided, subject to status. To apply you must be at least 18 years old and a UK resident. A guarantor may be required. Security may be required by way of a Bill of Sale.

Credit is only available on cars supplied by us.

External Finance Administration Fee

If you use an external finance company to pay for your car, there will be an External Finance Administration Fee of £180 to cover administration costs, this is non-refundable and non-transferable. You will be able to add the External Finance Administration Fee to the price of the car.

Collecting a Vehicle

The collections procedure is subject to completion of the pre-delivery inspection and any repairs that may arise from it. A confirmation email or text will be sent as soon as the vehicle is ready for collection. If there’s likely to be a delay you will be contacted as soon as possible. Please allow up to one hour to collect your car.

Valid UK / EU Driving Licence including photo section or Valid Passport is required for identification on every collection.

Warranty

All our cars come with 3 months warranty unless stated otherwise. The 3 months warranty includes the following customer benefits:

  • Cover for a comprehensive list of mechanical and electrical components.
  • £300 claim limit (subject to £50 excess) per claim.
  • Unlimited claims.

The warranty is on a return to base basis unless specifically agreed in writing prior to actioning a repair.

Please notice: for vehicles under 10 years old, less than 100,000 miles on the clock, 2 wheels drive, and engine size under 3.0L will come with 3 months AA warranty. Other vehicles will come with 3 months Used Cars Express self admin warranty.

AA Free Basic Breakdown Cover

  • Covers you for breakdowns over ¼ mile from home.
  • Limited to one call-out a year. Further call-outs available on a pay-for-use basis.
  • Free for 12 months

Online Buying Returns Policy

Buying online from us you have the same rights as you would if you walked into our showroom and bought face to face. We give you 14 days to change your mind. If you don’t like it, simply bring it back within 14 days for a refund.

  • If you decide to return the car, your refund will be adjusted by 45 pence per mile to reflect usage.
  • All return vehicles are subject to an Additional Administration Fee of £695.
  • You can put the refund towards purchasing another from us immediately of us getting the car back.
  • You should get a refund within 14 days of us getting the car back if you decide to get money back.

Complaint and Feedback Procedure

We are committed to providing a high standard of service to you and all our customers. Occasionally we may not live up to our expectations and if this happens we would like to hear from you. This will allow us to put matters right and make improvements. We value your feedback and thank you for helping us treat all our valued customers fairly.

In the first instance, please share your complaint in person with our staff as they are usually best placed to resolve the concern.

Deduction Policy

In the unlikely event that it’s defective or doesn’t match the specification of Used Cars Express accepting the return of your vehicle for a refund. We will require the vehicle to be returned to our location in the same condition as when it was purchased. The vehicle recovery and transportation are the responsibility of the Buyer.

We will also exercise our right to deduct a reasonable sum of money having taken in to account the usage of the vehicle and any failure to keep it in good repair and condition. This will include but not limited to our right to charge the consumer 45 pence per mile for each mile covered since the date of sale, along with the cost of any valeting and estimate for repairs required to any damage to the vehicles interior and exterior that was caused whilst the vehicle was in your possession.
